Belgrade Piano Duo, Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 6 pm, Kennedy Centre, Millennium Stage. Concert is free and open for public.
Founded in 1997 by Daniela Bratkovic and Janko Djokovic, the duo performs works by Josif Marinkovic, Ivan Jeftic, Mihailo Živanovic, and more.
Belgrade Piano Duo (Daniela Bratkovic and Janko Djokovic) was founded in 1997 in Professor Ingrid Rajicâ's classroom of the chamber music department at Belgrade's Faculty of Music. Since then, the duo has been performing extensively domestically and abroad. They have performed at major international competitions (International Piano Duo competitions "Ciudad de San Sebastian", San Sebastian, Spain, First Special Prize, "Chopin" Rome, Italy, Second Prize, "Petar Konjovic", Belgrade, Serbia, First Prize, National Competition, Belgrade, Serbia First Prize, Federal Competition, Nis, Serbia First Prize, Federal Competition, Belgrade, Serbia First Prize), as well as numerous concerts and festivals (33rd "BEMUS" International Music Festival, Belgrade, Serbia, First Memorial "Isidor Bajic", Novi Sad, Serbia, Fifth International Chorus Festival, Kragujevac, Serbia, concert performances in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, Zakopane, Poland, numerous cities in Serbia, and performances at the closing ceremonies of competitions in Rome and San Sebastian). |

Washington, May 9, 2007 - In cooperation with the National Library of Serbia and the European Division of the Library of Congress, Embassy of Serbia presented the exhibition “Radoslav’s Times: Two Radoslavs - Two Times". The exhibition was opened by Ambassador Ivan Vujacic and Congresswoman Melissa Bean, chairman of the Serbian Caucus in the the U.S. Congress. The exhibition, shown at the European reading room of the Library of Congress May 9 - June 30, 2007, presents two parallel stories telling about two epoques of life history in Serbia. |

The paintings date from before the great fire that destroyed parts of Chilandar monastery, which gives them the value of a historic document, capturing the monastery in its original state. |

Washington, December 2, 2006 - Third year in a row, Embassy of Serbia organized a mini film festival featuring new movies from Serbia. This year's screenings included four titles: "Where Yellow Lemon Blooms" by Zdravko Sotra, "Sheitan's Warrior" by young director Stevan Filipović, "Awakening from the Dead" by Miloš Radivojević, and "Party" by Aleksandar Davic. The movie theater in the Washington Goethe Institute proved to be too small for all those movie lovers that showed up this weekend wanting to learn more about Serbian cinematography. |

Boston, November 10, 2006 – Wentworth Institute of Technology hosted an Academic Symposium on to recognize the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla, a prominent Serbian-American scientist who is credited with ushering in the age of electrical powers by his many inventions and over 700 patents that helped revolutionalize communications. Over 150 attendees participated in this deserving celebration of intellectual stimulation and culture. |

Washington, June 26, 2006 -As a part of a year-long commemoration of the 150th anniversary of birth of Nikola Tesla, Serbian-American inventor, mechanical and electrical engineer and physicist, Embassy of Serbia hosted an exhibition by Serbian-born artist Dejan Jovanovic. The exhibition includes a series of reliefs depicting the great scientist and inventor at key points in his life, as well as paintings inspired by Tesla's words, drawings and photographs from his time experimenting in Colorado Springs in 1899-1900. |

| Serbian Physicist Becomes the First Women to Lead an Institut of Technology in the U.S. |
Boston, April 5, 2006 – Wentworth Institute of Technology, a leading nationally accredited institution of higher learning that specializes in technical education, welcomed its new president, a Serbia-born physicist Dr. Zorica Pantic.
Dr. Zorica Pantic is inaugurated as the fourth, and first female, president in Wentworth's century-long history and the only female engineer to lead an institute of technology in the U.S. She leads and manages efforts related to 3,600 students and 375 faculty and staff, and oversees the institute's operating budget of $70 million and endowment of $80 million. |
